As is well known publicly, I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer. The prognosis is excellent. Over the coming months, my priority must be to complete my treatment and regain full health. I therefore asked the Prime Minister that I not be considered for a ministerial position in today’s reshuffle. I will however continue to discharge my responsibilities as Senator for NSW, a position I am proud to hold.
